Senior season is here!

August 15, 2019

School is back in session and there’s a new class in charge!  We had so much fun with these two BFF’s two weeks ago when we did their senior portrait session near West Palm Beach. Senior sessions with http://www.justtoseeyousmile.com are available NOW and can be booked on location or in our Boynton Beach studio.  We also offer an option to do both in studio and outdoor on the same day.

Here are a few tips to get ready for your senior portrait session!

  1.  Have a consultation with your photographer so they know what kind of “feel” you want for your senior session.  This will direct them on a location to recommend.
  2.  Gather  your wardrobe for the session.  Choose clothing that you can sit, stand, or pose in comfortably.  Be sure to show off your sense of style!
  3.  Bring accesories or props that mean something to you.  Be sure to discuss what you have in mind during your consultation so that your photographer can accommodate your request.
  4.  Be ready to have FUN!  Your senior portraits can only show your personality if you put it out there during the session.   Now is not the time to be shy 🙂

There are many other questions that might come up to help prepare you for your senior portraits.  Be sure to book them NOW to meet the deadline for your school yearbook!   It typically will take 2-3 weeks to get on the schedule for a photographer and it will take 2-3 weeks for the images to be returned to you.

Have a great SENIOR YEAR!  If you have any questions, I can be reached at 561-350-4219 or stacy@justtoseeyousmile.com.

Do you ever wonder what goes into making a beautiful newborn portrait?  Boynton Beach Award Winning Photographer, Stacy Toeniskoetter of http://www.justtoseeyousmile.com has been working with newborns for 13 years!  Creating beautiful, simple, classic portraits of newborns has many things to consider, here are her top THREE.

  1.  Prepare BEFORE your baby is born!  Hiring a professional and scheduling your DUE DATE is KEY to getting into the studio within the week or so of your baby being born.  It’s ideal to get the sleepy and curly positions while the baby is less than 10 days old.  Preparing before will also make sure the photographer you want is available.
  2. Consider photographing siblings and parents during your newborn session.  Your little one will only be this tiny for a very short time.
  3. Most professionals have many things to incorporate into your session, but it’s good to discuss if you plan to bring anything with you to include before the day of the session so that your photographer can be prepared.

Call us for a free consultation for more information on newborn portraits in Palm Beach County.  We can be reached at 561-350-4219.

This little beauty was referred to us by Dr. Jose Nodarse.  https://nodarseobgyn.com

If you looking for a newborn family photographer in Boynton Beach, look no further!  We specialize in newborns, family portraits and headshots for all ages.  Sweet little “G” was born the beginning of June and her mom immediately called to get on our busy schedule.  Getting newborn portraits of  your baby within the first ten days will allow you to capture these sleepy curled up poses.     We typically book newborn due dates months in advance to ensure we will be in town when the baby is fresh out of the womb so don’t wait until your baby is born to tentatively hold an appointment.  This little one was referred to us by a family that I have worked with for the last ten years, but not all sessions find me based on referral.  It doesn’t matter how you found us, we are just glad you did 🙂

Please call for a free consultation, we would be happy to answer any questions you may have about your session.    More of my newborn work can be found on our website here. http://www.justtoseesyousmile.com

Here is a sample of how Miss G’s  session went.

I had the pleasure of hanging out with Mr. “M” last week and it was a treat!  He met me at my  Boynton Beach photography studio and we captured his milestone portraits with his lively little personality.   The minute he arrived I knew we would be friends!  Milestone portraits are crucial to keeping these little moments alive.  As a parent of a child going to be a senior in high school next year, trust me when I say you will wish you spent the time to document your little one at age five!

Whether your little one is newborn or not so little and graduating college…milestones are meant to be photographed!    Please call me today for a complimentary consultation.  I look forward to hearing from  you!

Parents often wonder how in the world will I get their toddler to cooperate while trying to preserve this precious time in their lives.  The truth is, it’s NEVER a guarantee a toddler  or newborn will fall into my shenanigans but I know it is ALWAYS worth the effort to try!  This adorable Boynton Beach family has documented milestones in their family with me before.   Ashley called to schedule a newborn appointment and she literally said “good luck with this crew!”  A five year old, a just turned two year old and a four week old.   I was up for the challenge!

Here are three key things to make a session with a newborn and a toddler go smoothly.

  1. Trust your photographer!  Choose someone with experience so they know how to handle these ages.   Follow the tips they give before you arrive to your session.
  2. Let the photographer do their job!  It’s essential to come into the session with positive energy and a willingness to lend a hand without trying to bribe your kids into doing what you want.  BRIBES don’t necessarily work.   MOST of the time children will listen to someone they don’t know as well, so let the photographer give the children instructions.  If they need you to try and get smiles, they will let you know!  Come into the session with NO expectations.
  3. Book when the newborn is NEW!  Waiting too long might mean a newborn won’t sleep and this just means more chaos during your session.   Let’s be honest, we are going to be chasing a toddler, the last thing we want to worry about is an awake newborn trying to settle in.  Sessions tend to go more smoothly if the baby is less than 10 days old.    We were really lucky with this little guy who was 4 weeks old when this session was taken.

I have been serving Boynton Beach and the surrounding communities for almost thirteen years and I would welcome the opportunity to talk to you further about your newborn portrait session.  Newborn due dates can be held up to 6 months in advance.  Please see www.justtoseeyousmile.com for more information.

Great to see the “R” family again!   Mommy and I met way back at my Barton County Community College days and it’s been a treat to see her family grow on my trips back to Kansas City.    How lucky was I to find this small little spot at Loose Park to match their outfits!

I just can’t even stand it….this little one at 18 months old has his entire family in LOVE….I have to admit, I am in love to 😉

I just love capturing the connection between the kiddos and their parents…these were my favorite from this session while in KC.

Super sweet family has added to their mix since I saw them about two years ago….It was wild, but FUN !

Recently in KC, I was asked to photograph 6 under the age of 6…..I loved how the family brought the cute numbers to represent their ages and I love how we captured just who they were at this moment.  LOL

I love love love my trips back to Kansas City…..catching up with dear friends and being able to see my family on occasion when I go back is an added treat.  These three cuties belong to my long time friend that I have known since I was a kid….these babies are like my own and I love it when they call me Aunt Stacy 🙂  I hope you will follow along as I add sneak peeks from my recent trip.  Sadly, I got rained out and 3 families are willing to wait til I come back again in August.  I am so thankful for everyone’s support.

After having my blog down for almost a year…I want to make it a personal goal to post every Friday.   In the past few months I have had the pleasure of working with several families that used to live here but have moved away for one reason or another.   It really is a true testimony when someone makes you one of the first calls they make when making travel plans to come back to the area.  I am so honored and grateful that families enjoy spending an hour with me to update their family portraits when they are here just a short time visiting their loved ones.  A big THANK YOU to ALL those families, and here is a little share of the most recent session with the “E” Family.   This family started coming to me when their older daughter was just about 2 years old.  They had to move away a few years ago and the last two years they have booked a family portrait session while visiting family here from Seattle.   We used to have to chase them around the studio (like all toddlers!)  They certainly aren’t toddlers anymore, and they were really playful for our session on Palm Beach a couple weeks ago.

I really am getting choked up just thinking about this post….Why does LIFE have to fly by so fast?  Where have the last 11 years gone and where did my itty bitty baby girl go?  So incredibly proud of her!   I am sure we all could go on and on about the things that make us most proud about our children, but I want to zoom in on just a couple things not to bore you all to death 🙂  This school year, Hanna has really “grown up” in so many ways.  She is the most determined little thing I have ever known (there is a BIG difference between determined and stubborn…she is NOT stubborn…that is her little sister Abby!)  She was really excited and gracious that we found her an instrument within just a day or so to have in time for her first band class and she told us about a week into it that she didn’t like the flute. (borrowed from a very generous client!)  She didn’t like it because it’s likely one of the hardest to learn out to play.  But she stuck with it because she IS really a good kid…and she rolls with the punches.  Well….her Uncle Matt came up with a clarinet that didn’t cost anything.   After a tune up, it was good to go.  Hanna’s teacher told her that she could switch if she could learn how to play it.  During Christmas vacation, she brought that thing everywhere and she taught herself how to play it.  Just this past week, her band teacher allowed her to switch when the year is almost over!   She also is teaching herself to play a keyboard that she got for Christmas about 3 years ago….I can’t believe I actually hear songs being played when she turns it on!  Incredibly….she has also been taught to play the guitar recently.   She was given lessons for Christmas and she is finally eager to learn how to play an instrument that SHE BOUGHT with her birthday money about 4 years ago!  Did I already mentioned DETERMINED!  One last little story so I don’t lose you 🙂  When Hanna was about 5 we re-decorated her room w/ a horse theme with a mural and all because she was REALLY into horses at the time.  Just this past year, SHE insisted that we change her room yet again to make it a little more grown up…..I about cried when we had to paint over the mural.   When we moved into this house about 8 years ago, she was exited that we lived on the lake because she thought we could own a horse here!    Well…..she now has that dream once again.  BUT, now that she is internet savvy, she has managed to compile a very detailed analysis about what it’s going to take to be able to afford a horse.  She is on a mission to earn 50K and she is now determined that the horse will live with Grandpa Dick and Grandma B on their 70+ acres in Western Kansas!    She is absolutely, positively, the most determined, smart, sweet, funny, soft hearted, beautiful  little girl I know.  She is our Hanna girl, and she is 11 years old today.    I believe she will own a horse someday….she is likely to own a ranch that has a music studio in it 🙂   We love you sweetie…..these beautiful images were taken by Jennifer Weiss Photography only about a week ago.  Be sure to scroll down b/c somehow my favorites got to the bottom!  XOXO
