In Loving Memory

March 17, 2010

I met this family a little over three years ago.   They have two fun energetic boys and the love between Mom and Dad was infectious.  I was honored last summer when Mom called to ask me to do a family portrait, but was a little surprised she had called in the summertime.  They usually update their family photo in the fall for the holidays.  She announced that her husband had been diagnosed with Leukemia the February before  and my heart just sank.   She was excited that he was feeling great and was on his way to Tampa for a bone marrow transplant and knew that the months to come would be rough.   They wanted to capture their family before he left.   I was fortunate to hear that the transplant was a success and he was doing great.     As the new year began, it was a coincidence that my daughter and their son turned up on the same soccer team.  I had not seen Ken in months and was thrilled to see that he was doing so great.   He was telling me about going back to work as a teacher at Lake Worth Christian School (where Abby attends) in August.   My heart was full to know that they had possibly beat this!    It was only a month later that I would notice that Ken wasn’t at the soccer field and Mom then told me that the cancer was back…….  Only three short weeks later, Ken, lost his battle last night.   I know in my heart that Ken is in a better place, but I truly grieve with this family at this time.    I wanted to share just one image from our session last summer.

In Loving Memory of Ken -

It’s really hard to believe that  nine years ago today, I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl…..She really is the sweetest little thing with a big kind heart.  She is smart as a whip and we are VERY proud of her.  This year we were able to surprise her with tickets to a concert with one of her favorite artists….Taylor Swift.  It worked out since the concert is next week!  Trying to think of something to go along with that without spoiling the secret that we have all kept from her since last October, we invited a few friends over and did Mini Rock-N-Roll Makeovers and photo shoot.  All the moms were on board  knowing that they would be picking up their darling little angels all ROCKED OUT in make up and hair paint.  The girls had a blast and it was really fun watching Hanna have so much fun with her friends…..there was a little drama that gives us a glimpse of what will indefinitely come in the years that are ahead, but for the moment, it was fun to allow her to let loose and do some things that we wouldn’t normally do.     TAYLOR SWIFT here we come!    Happy 9th Birthday Hanna!!!  We LOVE you!!!!

And the reason we have to be scared :

This is a project that I have been thinking about since January of 2009!  I finally put it into play in August of 09, but with all kinds of things constantly on my to do  list, this project ALWAYS got put on the back burner…  I am so excited to announce that I finally have a website dedicated to EVENTS!

With the launch of the new site – there is a VERY special offer I want to extend to ANYONE who can REFER an EVENT that books with me before the end of 2010!  ALL you have to do is refer friends, family,co-workers, neighbors (you get the idea) to my new site – they have to fill out the contact information from the site and put YOU as the referral in the notes.  Once they pay their deposit to book their event, I will give YOU a $50 cash credit OR a $100 PRINT CREDIT toward your next session!!!!   This offer is only valid until March 31st!!!!!  Regular referral credit will always apply thereafter :)

Grab a drink, sit back and relax and enjoy the new site!

THANK YOU!!!

I have some valentine’s images that I could post to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day, but when I was backing up these images, I couldn’t resist the share here.  SO – Forget the hearts….we have cabbage  :)  HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY TO EVERYONE!!!!  I have a sample of a cabbage shot in my studio and clients always make comments about it and would love to have one of their own.  This mom has been excited about the shots since she started bringing her baby to me when he was only two weeks old!  Well, here he is at nine months….as cute as can be….and he was cracking up and having a great time…..SO CUTE!     Thank you M for being part of my baby plan.  Your little sweetheart has been a pleasure to work with!

Hello all!  I hope everyone is enjoying their Superbowl Sunday with their family and friends!!!  Be safe out there!  I just had a GREAT weekend with my assistant who moved last August.  It has been wonderful to keep her on board with the move…..but it has been sad having her soooo far away!   We met up in Orlando on Friday and had two days to catch up….shopping, eating, drinking, movies, a piano bar….need I say more???    I managed to twist her arm to take some headshots so everyone can finally put a face to her name!  She has worked with me for two and a half years, so many of you already “know” her.   She is AWESOME and I just love having her working with me through this journey.

We had alot of fun doing these, and there are more to come.  She was a huge sport to put up with me practicing with window light in our home for the  weekend and we were FREEZING when we went outside!!!  Thank you to Kristin for ALL that you do!!!!!  I APPRECIATE YOU and THANK YOU for such a fun weekend away!    I already look forward to getting our kids together in June!

This BABY needs a break!

February 3, 2010

Well….I am really referring to ME – but thought I would post a couple images of this sweet baby in a recent session.  Isn’t she sweet!  I am taking a much needed break to spend the weekend in Orlando with my assistant!  A GIRLS WEEKEND!  WAHOO!  I have not gotten to see Kristin since she moved last August, so it will be fun to catch up with her, even though we communicate almost daily…..it will be great to actually see her!   Joining us is a friend from Delray…..I am counting the hours until we leave!

I have had a baby boom in studio lately!  This little one was the sixth newborn in one week that has been in to see me!  Congratulations to all my baby boomers!  I hope everyone has a great weekend! – Stacy

I have ALOT of adorable clients and I have favorites from every session that I would love to post on the blog…there are just not enough hours in the day to keep up with it.  Every so often I come across and image that I just can’t resist sharing with those that follow this blog!  Isn’t this the cutest face EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!  VERY typical of the one year stage and I am so excited that we captured this one for mommy’s album.  The expression is priceless and what one year old doesn’t like a big bowl of cheerios???  SO stinkin’ cute.  Thank you A for bringing your little one to me over the last year, it has been a treat to work with you and your family.

THANKS KANSAS CITY!

January 22, 2010

I have been pretty lucky to have some amazing trips to Kansas City to shoot for some great families….I have to say, this trip was a bit of a challenge!  Between missing my flight there and the delayed flight home with yucky weather and equipment that malfunctioned – it was a test of my patience!   I got through it and ended up having alot of fun with some old friends and one family I had not seen in 10 years!  I hope to get to all the sessions this weekend….if you had a session with me while I was in KC a couple weeks ago….keep checking back!  Thanks again to all that participated!  I am already looking at dates to come back in MAY when it will be WARM!!!  Here were some of my personal favorites from the trip.
